Sorry this is late. Every Friday I share a story about my Granny Nancy McClamroch.
She’s in Heaven now. Here’s more.
If the weather was nice, Granny was in her garden.
She’d have a rag or towel wrapped around her head and a garden tool in her hand. 
And she would never, and I me
an NEVER, wear gloves.
Granny said true gardening had to be hands-on.
She used old-fashioned scissors to clip the grass around some parts of her flower kingdom. Talk about precision. The work she put into her garden made migrant work look like a day at Disney.
Granny snipped and clipped, dug and dragged, planted and pruned year after year culminating in the abject mastery her garden was. 
It was a labor of love that all who knew her will remember.
When my folks go to Grandpa’s this weekend, they’ll bring back pictures of Granny’s garden so I can show you.

“Flashy LuLu” Queen Granny, Nancy McClamroch
Sorry this is late. Every Friday I shared a story about my Granny Nancy McClamroch.
She’s in Heaven now. Here’s more.
I owe you THREE Granny posts. It’s a good thing Granny was a wacky, wonderful lady. I have enough stories to tell until I croak. Enjoy the ride!
Dunno…?
Mommy and her brother Mark are Granny’s two kids. Well, they’re grown now. They’re a couple years apart. Mommy’s older. Shhh…
Anyway, whenever something came up missing, broken, messed up or just out of order when they were kids, Granny would say, “Who did this?”
As you might imagine, no hand shot up. The McClamroch kids both shook their heads, shrugged and mumbled, “mm..unh-unh,” which is a sound people say when they shorten “I don’t know.”
Grann
y would smile, laugh and say, “There goes the McClamroch ghost again.”
The McClamroch kids were glad there was somebody else to blame; even if it was a ghost.
Dropsie
Granny said her kids had Dropsie, leaving a strew of stuff here, there and everywhere. No matter how often she put stuff away, there were always shoes, school books, bikes, play stu
ff or the like dropped in the middle of wherever.
Granny had sayings for everything. Her cure for Dropsie was, “Final resting spot.” She had different variations all meaning the same thing. Granny would command, “DO NOT..AND I MEAN DO NOT…UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, set ANYTHING down until you put it in its FINAL resting spot!!” She left notes, chased the kids around wagging her finger and hoped they’d catch on.
“You’ll never have to clean if you put stuff in its “final resting spot” she campaigned. The kids had confidence Granny would pluck wayward items and skedaddle them to their final resting spot, so they never got cured of Dropsie.
AAACH..OOOOOOO….IE!
Granny’s sneeze was like a five-alarm- fire. She sort of yodeled the burst.
Researchers say sneezes are like laughter. How we sneeze 
reflects our personality.
So, of course, 
Granny had a loud explosive sneeze to match her
wacky, wonderful personality.

Mommy told me a story about how my Granny outfitted herself in a full body gorilla suit that looked totally real. Granny aped into her boss Landon Knight‘s office with her best ooh ooh ahh ahhs.
Mr. Knight was known for his crumudgeonesque manner, so he told Granny to get back to work without so much as a raised brow.
Mr. Knight’s in Heaven, too. I imagine Granny’s enjoying his company.

It’s a bird..it’s a plane…
H
oly macaroni and cheese!
My little bunny ears are aching.
The Thunderbirds ! It’s a sound you can’t miss.
They look like big red, white and blue birds. A cross between a bird and a bat.
They twirl and whirl, and flip upside down. They fly straight up. Then straight down. 
I sort of got sea sick watching the up, down and around.
We hear military planes a lot since our house seems to be in their flying pattern. But, the Thunderbirds..now that’s an ear-splitting sound. The big birds are here for an airshow. Me and Mommy watched it 
yesterday on YouTube. You can see it here. It knocked my bunny socks off!
I don’t think bunnies are allowed into the airshow. I’m glad because it’s too loud from here. My bunny brain can’t imagine how loud it’d be at the show! 
Our house rattles when the planes fly over it. Sort of like being on the highway with your window down. Like a HUGE sweeper, too.
My kitty siblings… since they’re over-the-hill old..are frea
ked out 
by the noise. I think they’re all cowering in our dank basement.
The Thunderbirds arrived Thursday. They practiced Thursday and Friday. 
Loads rumbling whoosh sounds til tomorrow.
I’ll be glad when the big birds go bye bye.

Comet’s Crew asks help for bunny Ava
Meet my new friends Bailey and Eddie and crew, the bunnies from Comet’s Corner.
Beloved Comet
Bailey and Eddie are two talking rabbits who will surely brighten your day with their silly jokes and antics.
Bailey and Eddie’s human started Comet’s Corner in memory of their beautiful little mini-lop rabbit that sadly, passed away in February 2013. Despite every effort to try to save him.
His family is deeply saddened by the loss and is keeping his memory alive through Comet’s Corner.
Comet was a loving, funny little guy, who followed his human around the house and brought many smiles.

Comet’s Corner shared information about a rabbit foster and sanctuary in Long Island New York.
Right now, bunny Ava is fighting cancer, and needs your help.
Donations will help Ava, who is battling aggressive cancer.
Ava’s foster family found a lump on her underside about a year ago.
They brought her for a check up right away and tests showed that the lump was cancer.
Ava has undergone 3 surgeries to remove cancerous masses in her body.
Despite the intense nature of this disease, Ava is still hopping and binkying.
Your generosity provides Ava with the care she needs and to keep her comfortable as she continues to fight cancer. And helps with other bunnies in need.

Granny blew the whistle
Granny Nancy McClamroch
Every Friday, I write about my Granny, Nancy McClamroch. She’s in Heaven. More here.
Mommy told me Granny couldn’t stand hearing people scream outside for their kids to come home.
She said she would never holler for her kids. She had a better idea.
In the 70s, Granny bought an industrial strength whistle. 
When she wanted her kids to come home, she stood on the front porch, drew in a deep breath and then blew that whistle as hard as she could.
Then she’d head to the back porch and do the same. All the neighborhood kids knew the whistle meant the McClamroch kids needed to get home.
It worked like a grapevine. Even if the kids were too far to hear the whistle, other kids heard it.
Those kids told other kids until it got back to mommy and her brother that they needed to go home.
Granny kept that whistle on her key chain.
I guess Granny’s whistle was sort of like a cow bell calling folks to chow. That’s cool.
